Number Of BAME Homeless People More Than Double In 5 Years


New analysis of government data has found that there has been a huge rise in homelessness amongst ethnic minorities. The number of black, Asian and ethnic minority (BAME) people accepted as homeless by local authorities in England has increased by 63 per cent since 2010 – almost twice as much as the 33 per cent increase in homelessness across all ethnic groups. It reveals that government spending cuts and failures to address the cost of housing crisis have had a disproportionate impact on minority communities.
