EMPOWER To Support New Diabetes Patients


A new provider has begun delivering structured diabetes education programmes for patients across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland from 1st April 2016. Spirit Healthcare has been appointed to provide a programme called EMPOWER for patients over the age of 18 who have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in the last 12 months. EMPOWER is a tried and tested programme already being delivered in other areas of the country. It also also offers specific advice and support for patient from Black Minority Ethnic (BME) backgrounds where culture, diet and lifestyle increase the risk individuals developing Type 2 diabetes.
