Leicester City Assist Practice Consultation

Leicester City Assist Practice (Assist) is a medical centre which provides medical services for eligible patients and asylum seekers. TREC held a consultation event on 19th November in association with the Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group where the views and opinions of asylum seekers and refugees regarding Assist services could be heard.  A total of 26 individuals who had all used or were using Assist services attended the event.  Key points that were raised included the need for better translation services, literature and information in appropriate languages, improved access to GP’s, and medical practitioners understanding of the needs of refugee/asylum seekers, among others.
