Refugees Being ‘Forgotten’ Just As Their UK Asylum Applications Are Granted, Refugee Council Warns

Last month TREC and the work we do were mentioned in an article of The Huffington Post. The article is about the problems refugees are facing in this country caused by a system which can result in refugees losing government support just after gaining refugee status. The article looks at the example of a Syrian refugee named Faisal who was granted asylum and then essentially kicked out on the street. Faisal was a client of ours and he tells his story recognising TREC and the help we gave him. Even though we are only mentioned briefly we felt it worth including here because it’s an example of the work we do and the help we provide being highlighted on a national level.
